Doctor Dwayne Sargent was born in Denver, Colorado in 1937. He married Bette L. Swenson in 1959 and graduated from C.S.U. with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1962. He then entered practice with Dr. Stuart Burkhardt until Stuart's death. In 1974 Dr. Sargent built the Front Range Veterinary Clinic and in 1983 the Clinic became a member of the American Animal Hospital Association. His son, Dr. Brett Sargent joined him in practice in 1987.

Dwayne's special interests include dermatology, cardiology and reproductive medicine. His activities are church, family, their four year old Shih Tzu Muffin, Willie the cat, and Whitie a Parakeet (this is an all time low in the number of pets). Other special interests are running, hiking, skiing and gardening. He has two other children: Jill, an occupational therapist and Glen, a Physical Therapist.

His family is rather unique. His twin brother, Dr. Wayne Sargent is also a veterinarian practicing at the Montclair Animal Hospital in East Denver with his son, Dr. Nathan Sargent.
